IN SCHOOL OPPORTUNITES
- Pack Backpacks - Students pack backpacks with school supplies to give to less privileged students within the community.
- Thank You Notes - Students will be writing thank you notes for our heroes - soldiers overseas, police, and firemen around town. We are also sending the to our unsung heroes - school janitors, cafeteria workers, and staff.
- What I Learned - Students to go to a classroom of students in the grade below them. They talk to the students about what they wish they had known when they were in that grade and give advice.
- Pack Lunches - We'll be heading to the cafeteria and pack bagged lunches for the school to donate to homeless shelters and others in need.
- Encouraging Notes - Students create encouraging notes to leave in books in the school library to brighten someone’s day.
OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM
- Read to Seniors - We are heading to a local nursing home and students practice their reading skills by reading to the residents.
- Take a Walk - Together we walk around your school’s campus and pick up trash, making it beautiful!
- Charity 5K - Volunteers help check runners in or hand out water at a race where people run. to raise money for charity.
- Habitat for Humanity - Our class will be helping out with a Habitat for Humanity project. We also hold a donation drive for items the family will need once they move into their new home.
- Toiletry Bags - We'll be handing out bags of toiletries and non-perishable food to homeless people or others in need in your community
LONG-TERM PROJECTS
- Book Buddies - Partnering with another class, we create a book buddies system, where older children can help younger children practice their reading skills.
- Yardwork - An easy and practical way to help your community is by finding homes near your school with older or homebound residents and head over as a class every few weeks to help out with yardwork.
- Fresh Food - Plant a garden at your school. When your produce starts to bloom, donate all the fresh food to a local food pantry or a place where access to fruits and vegetables isn’t very common.
- Food Pantry - Volunteer to sort donations at your local food pantry once a quarter as a class.
- Tech Teaching - Head to a local retirement community or senior center once a month and help the residents learn to use the latest technology.

Before / After School Programs
When you’re a working family with school-age children, we have you covered with reliable before- and after-school care. c
Our before- and after-care programs go well beyond homework help. We support children in becoming the kindest, most capable, and most resilient version of themselves. That means giving each child the space, encouragement, and materials they need to follow their passions—whether they want to start a drama club, build a volcano, learn the game of chess or create a comic book. No matter where their talents take them, we create positive communities of friends with games, STEM projects, creative arts, and plenty of playtime to keep kids happy, bright, and healthy.
Our before and after school programs are available for students in grades K–6. Our curriculum is based on the latest educational research and focuses on building the three critical abilities that have the most impact on a child’s future success: social-emotional skills, executive-function skills, and inquiry-based learning.

Community
We’re all part of a community—and pitching in and interacting within that community can make a big difference. Your child will learn the value of community participation by being involved in an inclusive classroom community with a focus on group projects to explore common goals and enhance communication skills.
Creative Expression
Your child will get to express his creativity through movement, dance, drama, music, visual arts, and more! There are no limits to the imagination of a young and active mind—and at Champions, we want to make sure your child has the freedom to explore his creativity in any way that feels natural to him.
Inquiry-Based Learning
STEAM activities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) give your child the freedom to discover, create, and tinker. Your child will be given problems to solve as well as questions and real-life scenarios to think about so she can learn more about the world around her!
Literacy
Along with learning about different genres and styles of writing, a focus is also put on 21st century literacy, such as using technology and other sources to find information.
Saturday Morning STEM
Spring I - Middle School Computer Science will introduce 5th - 8th grade students to Computer Science concepts with five Saturday morning sessions.
Topics include:
- Computer Coding
- Robotics
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
